radiator alternate part? Radiator in my 83 S manual sprung a leak. A 40 year old radiator was $400, New was $2700! Custom built with oil tanks were about $700. None of those appealed to me so I started looking around for a substitute. Fortunately some Visegrips and a conservative recrimping on the plastic end tanks solved the problem. However, I kept my eyes open and measured a friend's 1997 xk8. Looks like a tight but possible fit and available for less than $200 new. My 1993 xjs 4.0 seems similar. The thickness at 1.75 inches is slightly less than the original 928, but it is sufficient to cool the Jags equal or more powerful engine. Anyone tried this or another substitute? |

Nobody seems to make high quality radiators any more, certainly not cheap ones. I have a new Behr waiting for when my car needs one, maybe look harder or try one of the made to fit one piece from CR. Pelican and others sell them. |

I think the CSF radiator sold by 928 Intl and Roger is a plug and play high quality radiator. I do not possess one but I hear good things from others that have mounted them. |
