What’s the most efficient 928 yr and trans

I’m sure there is a post about this somewhere. Just curious about range too. Is there any bigger gas tanks in any years. Appreciate all your experience on this.
Thanks in Advance.
Mark

Tanks were all the same volume.

Top gear in all model years AFAIK was always 1:1, so no greater range.

Cool, thanks! (Honerboys) Do you have an 84 Euro 4.7, that’s awesome mileage if so.
Thanks

My 84 Euro averaged 21mpg at over 100 mph for 1200 miles. Passed all manner of Prius in the left lane and felt good about it.

BTW, Javaschlava your PM is full and will not accept any more PMs.

Crazy talk! I thought a euro bigger motor would guzzle more than a us detuned emissions friendly beast. Looking for more hp so I might get better mileage if I do?
This is gonna happen.
Need a lead on a good 5.0 short block.
Anything?

That post took a left turn...….LOL.

I hate being behind a driver in the left lane with his window down and smelling weed being smoked. Stay the F*^K home if you want to smoke.

Javaschiava, IINM, the advantage is electronic FI over CIS

Texas Squiggly Road Country MPG -

Just returned from a week's run down through the Canyon Lake area of the Texas Hill Country. On some of the back roads, the Texas Highway Dept must have chased a bunch of cows through the brush and paved the resulting road behind them.

Although some do get much better mileage - Miss Purdy averaged around 19 mpg while there. She does occasionally hit the 21 mpg mark if I behaved myself out on interstate.

Have a safe Veteran's Day - Michael

Good MPG isn't a 928 feature in any model year, CI$ likely the worst, guessing S4 auto maybe best, but not by much. Sharktuning may help as well.

As I recall the 914 either 1.6 or 1.8 would hit 35 mpg, and do LA to SF on a tank of gas.

"Good MPG isn't a 928 feature in any model year" - very true..and i'm sure someone buying a $45,000 car in 1984 didn't care

I think my sticker showed a gas guzzler tax of like $2 or $3k.

OTOH gas may be a weekly expense, but its no more than about 25% at best of ownership costs, and thats for the few frequently driven cars.
