SPEC stage 1 impression
Hi all,
I have to replace my clutch in my 1980 928S. During my research, Pelican recommended to choose the 1 SPEC stage over the original one since they claim it is lighter and stronger with almost the same feel. Does anyone has any experience with SPEC stage 1 clutch? I would like to hear some feedback. Thanks in advance! |

is there a price difference? - i went with the original disks 2 years ago - one (i think the front) was fairly reasonable??..around $170 - the rear (i think) was like $400 - to look at them both ..not much difference - are you racing/tracking the car?

Yes, there is a price difference. the SPEC costs 700$ (2 discs + pressure plate).
the original 2 discs + pressure plate will cost 990$ Original pressure plate + 2 after mark discs will cost 700$ as well I am not going to race I am actually looking for the smoothest clutch possible since I had enough of the vibrations I have with my current clutch. This why I am in a such dilemma ![]() According to Pelican the SPEC is smooth and they recommend it over the original one but I have doubts... Any thoughts?

By the way, what parts other than the pressure plate, 2 discs, pilot and release bearings is recommended to replace?
