removing fuel rail for Porsche 928
I've been trying to removel the fuel rail so I can have the injectors cleaned (the car starts then dies, if you hold the fuel flow sensor flap open it will run!). I bought what I thought was an high end AMPRO T42572 10 Piece 3/8-Inch Drive Flare Nut Crowfoot Wrench Set.
The 17 mm was to small-the 18mm seemed to fit (Goldy locks wrench) I had to tap it together with a 5 inch extension and it was tight but I did get a ratched on it. Gave it about 30 lbs on the end of a 6 ' handle but it gave. A quick inspection shows the crow wrench was separating. My question is (I dont mind taking off the air box) what is the proper size wrench 18mm? 18-1/2 mm 18-1/4? Is there a wrench that can do the job? SHould is just cut off the rubber hoses amd jimmy the replacements in? my emailis fobermueller@Promia.com AMPRO T42572 10 Piece 3/8-Inch Drive Flare Nut Crowfoot Wrench Set |

I advise a large and varied selection of pickup tools, magnet things and grabbers. Nice thing about the 928 is that most of the big parts are not magnetic, so easy to fish around.
OTOH starts then dies sounds like something related to cold start, not dirty injectors otherwise it wouldn't start. Cleaning still is 100% a good baseline starting point. Always good to put some idea of your location and model year in your profile and/or sig. |
