Fuel injector seals

Replacing my injectors on my 82S Euro and was curious if the seals are installed in specific way/direction? They have a flat end and a dished end. I would say the dished in end would seat at the hex end of the injector, but not sure. The old ones are in too bad of shape to tell and the WSM's I had did not cover these injectors.

Anyone? I am over thinking this? Does it really matter?

I installed them with the dished end up against the hex of the injector and the car is running better than when I originally bought it. These were the MB injectors and they are a little shorter than the originals but from what I have read is pretty much the only option. Probably needs a little more fine tuning, but overall very happy with the results.
