Location matters, you really don't want to ship a long block or short block.

Shipping is not a big deal as long as you have...

I shipped an engine and transmission from GA and KY for $200 each at different times. CA to NH for an engine is $400. TX to NH is $250. It all depends on whether or not its a business location with a loading dock or forklift. If you pick up at the freight depot you can shave as much as $100 from the fees.

Jus' say'n FYI

I had a wrecking yard ship me an engine from NorCalif to SoCal, cost about $300 to a local shipping terminal and arrived with significant damage I could do nothing about.

Sure, it "can" work well and have a reasonable price, it can also not work well, have some crazy fuel surcharge, and end up with damage "nobody" knows how it happened.

Mostly no real point, its not that hard to find something reasonably local and skip all the headaches.

Shipping and damage

Yeah, that is very true especially when most forklift operators shouldn't drive a little red wagon:-D

UPS is one of the worst of delivery damage. I have had more items damaged by UPS than any other carrier. R&L has a bad rep too, but I've not had a problem with them as of yet.

Anyway its all a gamble. Heck buying a "sorted out car" so-called can be a risk as well. You just don't know what lurks under the covers unless you spend the money for a proctology exam and the seller is willing to allow it.

Ducman in San Pedro has a ready to use just rebuilt us 85/86. When you are short on detail, you will be short on responses.

Ok well I don't know how much more detail is needed when I have a list of acceptable engine codes. If you mean acceptable distance them my apologies.

I will try again. I am looking to buy a good 928 Engine. Specifically a M28/11, M28/12, M28/21, M28/22, M28/43 or M28/44 coded engine. These are hi-comp euro and S engines. Will ship from most of the lower 48. Long or short block is fine. Please call 603 396 8355.

What seems confusing to me is the variety and lack of compatibility, as well as I don't know what "good" means without an application, and nothing means much without some kind of price range.

Euro short blocks don't have much demand, the high compression comes almost entirely from the heads. Same for US 85/86 short block rarely in demand, typical use is with Euro S heads since the short blocks are more common than Euro Short blocks it saves shipping cost. US 85/86 longblocks are often cheaper than parts needed to make a short block a long block due again to shipping costs and what tends to break (cams and heads).

Heads are the key items, and generally not much use without an intake system that matches your fuel injection system. If you have a CIS system, Jjet intakes aren't much use.

Last point, half the people here are looking for 928 stuff, what gets posted are things we decide not to buy, and good priced Euro S engines or US 85/86 short blocks aren't usually skipped.

What seems confusing to me is why all the fuss? He just needs an engine and has specified what he needs. Good luck to you I hope you find what you need.

There is an M28/22 on the popular electronic bay of online auctions right now for $1441.39. It's in Brittan though so I have no idea what the shipping cost would look like.

I have a M28/22 short block that I won't have a need for as soon as I find a 85/86 5.0 shortblock.

Where are you located? There are two complete cars for sale in the NYC area. I just don't have the room for two more cars without my wife blowing a cork
