Seat Upholstery Kit Installation
Anyone completed a seat restoration with the upholstery kits you can get?
I assume it would entail removing the front seats and removing the current upholstery and then installing the new material? They say that they are a DIY but curious of others experience! Thanks! Mat

I did the seats in my 84 911, so not exactly the same as a 928 seat, but similar. I did Brown leather with brown/tan Pasha inserts. Got my covers from Classic 9
Yes, the seats will need to come out of the car, then you will need to strip the original covers off and install the now covers. Not an overly complicated job, but can be a little tedious. |

I have bought leather seat covers from Lseat.com (no affiliation). They arrive quickly and have been exactly what I ordered. They may not be made as well or as nice as the ones that Classic 9 sell. I really don't know. I was very happy with what I received. I did decide that installation of the seat covers was not in my skill set, and so I hired a local upholstery shop to install them. I was very disappointed with the installation, but not with the seat covers that I had provided them. In the previous post, 76FJ55 posted about installed his covers himself. 76Fj55 is a very capable and extremely intelligent person. If he says the job can be tedious, prepare yourself for that.

Thanks for the replies!
I had a look at the seats and I suspect the tedious comment is correct! I would likely sub out the installation and hope for a good result I guess! Thanks again! Mat

Many tasks on the 928 are tedious. The reason we often learn how to do them, and then do them ourselves is that no local vendors may know how to do it right, and the story of the 928 is that generic solutions don't work most of the time.
