928 oil leek.

My 1985 928s had a small oil leak, so I tighten the oil pan bolts. Now it leaks a lot! I have shop manuals but they don't say how to change the gasket. Do I unbolt the motor mounts and lift it some or take down the steering rack and more or .....?
If you've done it, I'd love to hear about it.
Thank You!
scott

Scott, you might want to do a 928 forum search in Rennlist.com for oil leaks or oil pan. There are lots of info as well as links.

Scott:

Oil pan gaskets are usually replaced from underneath.

I agree you ought to check Rennlist for more info and to find out which other things you ought to inspect/repair/replace while you're in there.
