And the reasoning for actually needing a remote start is???
Sell this car now and buy a Camaro or Accord before the Porsche becomes a garden ornament. |
I'm sort of with BW, especially since the car's a standard shift. It's likely difficult to impossible, and a lot of trouble for a trifling convenience...

If you have the electrical diagrams for your model year, it's straight forward!
The 928 from the factory will not start in gear. |
We have a '93 GTS and had a "78 and neither of them had an interlock on the clutch pedal, sure it wasn't installed in the aftermarket? Again, what is the reasoning in needing a remote start. The liability issue alone is worrying.....

try this link http://members.rennlist.com/v1uhoh/keyless.htm
I guess you use the remote start in very cold parts of the world to get some heat in the engine. Here in Pretoria SA we never see temp below 5deg Celc so we realy don't need it. Greetings Johan |
Brit here's a pic of the electrical on a 89 model. It clearly shows a safety switch. I hope this wasn't something that got over looked on yours or your customer’s cars as a possible problem. Now that would be a liability!
http://members.rennlist.com/t_max/92...safeswitch.jpg Johan Nice link for those who don't have a factory alarm! What sucks is that most came standard with a Porsche Factory Alarm (PFA) system. Maybe some day I'll do this to mine and document it, so we can have one with and one without a PFA? |
Checking on the Porsche wiring diagrams; that switch is only for automatic transmission equipped vehicles (M249).
