Wheel Options for '84 928s
I want to change from the stock platinum disc wheels to either Porsche "twist" or "cup" wheels. I see lots of examples at reasonable prices on Ebay but am uncertain of which will have an offset that will fit. My stock wheels are 7x16 ET 65. The stock 928 GTS wheel is a 993 part number, 7.5 and 9 x 17. The offsets are 55 I believe. Will they fit my car? Some come with 993 tires which are only 205 in front so I would have to get wider front tires I'm sure. Any help/advice appreciated.

i currently have 17x8 with 245-45-17 front and 17x9.5 with 265-40-17 rears on my 82 928, with the 55mm offset. the 993 wheels should fit. correct the front tires are a little thin. on a 17x7.5 you could go to 225-50-17 or 245-45-17. With the 55 offset tyou may want to use a spacer to make the rim more flush with the fender line though.
