Hi all,
I am a new 928 owner (bought the car last weekend). It’s an 85 928S, which is partially restored. I am a real “do it yourselfer” and am having a real hard time finding a Manual for the 928. Any suggestions? Also does anyone have any recommendations for a good auto upholstery shop in Houston??? I also need a good 928 Mechanic for the things I can’t do myself.

The manuals (9 book set) are available thru most Porsche outlets but are quite pricey. There's a fellow who does manuals as well as other technical pubs on CDROM, I think he lists them on eBay, but his name escapes me at this point.

Try http://www.devek.net for the 9-volume factory manuals. The illustrated parts catalog they sell is invaluable. Also *************** will have the Chilton's. CD versions are cheaper but hard to read in the bathroom.

I bought my set of manuals used off of ebay. They come up quite often...just make sure it has the updates. I'd expect to pay up around 400 depending on biding. One word or advice...those manuals are great but they are made for technicians with previous porsche/928 experience. A lot of procedures aren't totally clear, but can usually be figured out.

The best manuals I found were electronic pdf verions. I love them. Here is the web site.
sales@porschepubs.com On the upholstery side, I use GAHH who makes incredible new leather sets. Check out their web gahhinc.com. find what you want and I can get it wholesale, about 40% off. I have found it way cheaper than having a shop do the work. Mark |

Michael Angleo's uphostery and trim is good. a bit expensive and a little attitude but do good work. Tony's auto trim is real good too.
