928 will not run
 

82' por 928 stored 5 yrs . Add 2 cans of octane booster & 5 gal gas to existing 4 gal of gas. Engine only run as long as I spray starter fluid.

Fuel pump dead?

Clogged Fuel Line?

Sounds like fuel is not reaching injectors in any event.

Should never start any 928 that's been sitting for more than 3 years without changing the timing belt first!!!!!

Do some basic diagnosis work first..fuel pressure, injectors being actuated, ignition etc etc................

Anything sitting that length of time will need fuel system cleaning, drain the tank, take the injectors out and get them cleaned, change the fuel filter and start from that point onwards. Of course, there is probably a reason why it stood for five years............................................. .....

Forget the octane booster and get the old gas out of there. Add a bottle of the concentrated Techron cleaner to 5 gallon of fresh gas then jumper the fuel pump relay connections 30 and 87. If you can hear the fuel pump running, let it run for 2 or three minutes then change the fuel filter. If you can't hear it running, the pump is either plugged or burned out.

Once the Techron has run through the system, your fuel filer is new and the pump is running, try starting it. If it still doesn't start, pull the injectors and take them to a shop for cleaning or replace them. If it starts, don't expect it to run correctly until all of the lacquer buildup is gone. Keep Techron in it and expect to change the filter at least one more time.

Leaving any car sitting that long with old gas will often require a major fuel system overhaul/replacement to get things straight.
