Will 85 8way power seats fit in an 84

I found a nice pair of 85 8way power seats but not sure if they will fit in my 84 and wire properly. Anyone know if they will or not...

As memory serves me, '84 was a transition year for the seats; late cars used the '85 style, early the '83 style. I believe the door speakers hold the clue to which you have; 2 exposed grills on the door means the later style interior and the seats will be a direct swap.

If your car has the early style seats there will be a couple things to look out for; I found that the later seat sit slightly higher in early cars, so if you're tight on headroom, it'll be even moreso. The wiring is different and will have to be adapted too; the problem being that one type had the relays under seat, the other under dash.

It's been several years since I looked into this, so others may have more involved and positive info.

physically they will fit, wiring is going to be the issue
the 84 should be 4 way power, 85 8 way so you will need to wire in the later pigtail for this to work
