How old are your tires?
Tires have a DOT code on one side, so with a unidirectional tire left might have it outside, and right might have it inside so it takes a lift to read, or vice versa. Find the "DOT" and look at the last four digits of the code (length varies from 8 to 12 spots I think) and the manufacturing date will be MMYY, where MM is the month, and YY is the year.
Now the bad news, regardless of how the tread or the tire looks, or how it was stored, tires older than 6 years need to be replaced on any type of car, mild performance at 4+, and track use isn't recommended and in some cases allowed beyond 3 years. |
