Where's the battery?

I tried to find the battery the other day and couldn't. Where is it?
I looked under the hood and it wasn't there. Does it have a battery?
Thanks, P.

I am going to go to Autozone tomorrow to get some manuals.

I also have some warning lights that are always on. Hope it's just a false alarm, my 911 friend says to just ignore them and they will go off eventually.

Autozone isn't a bad place for a battery, but they won't have many 928 parts except by accident.

Guessing your just having some fun with us on the warning lights, if not we can talk about the repairs.

You shouldn't be asking the 911 guy about a 928, they won't even know where the motor is, let alone the battery, or technical stuff like warning lights.

Thanks for the help, I found the battery. Why they put it back there makes no sense. Maybe manuals on cd would be my best bet.

The car runs ok, that's why I am not too concerned by the warning lights on the dash.

That belt tension light comes on, and youre looking at as much as $10,000 to get your car running again if the belt fails.

Some people do have nuisance issues with some warning lights, abs, rdk, I forget what else, but I don't think those are on a 87. Regardless, drive it and see what happens is NOT good 928 or any other Porsche advice. A new to you 928 needs a good two hour inspection with time on a lift by a knowledgeable 928 guy.

Timing belt.
Water pump.
Pinch clamp and crank endplay.
Safety inspection.

With warning lights on, who knows what else might be flaky, the whole car needs a serious look over. My car had no tire with more than 24 psi, 1 missing lugnut, 2 loose lugnuts, and pinching the fuel injection hoses with my fingers left them wet with gas, but only warning light was a incorrect taillight bulb out.

I got the car in trade from a guy who owed me money. I really don't want to start spending any money on it if I don't have to, maybe an oil change and tune up or something.

I do have "toothed belt" and some others lit up, but it does run. The car was sitting for a few years but he was able to get it running.

Thanks for the advice.
P.

I guess you have no idea how funny that statement is to a 928 owner. Stop driving it, and sell it to somebody thats willing to fix it.
