Probably the same epoxy you'd use for the rearview mirror.

Yes and know, I believe at the dealer we were using a contact cement to glue the back of the mirror to plastic. But when you are glueing glass to glass or steel to glass then that special Krazy glue, for glass, bought at the auto parts store is the best.

The side glass mirror, mine at least, has a plastic heater thing on the back with 3 spring clips. The whole assembly is something like $65 for a factory part, no clue on just replacing the glass from a glass shop etc, but I would use some kind of "mirror" adhesive to stick the new glass to the old plastic heater thing.

The glass came off on my right-side mirror - I saw it moving (was being held on b y surface tension of moisture - it slid down as I closed the door one morning and when touched, came off in my hand).
I glued the glass bit back onto the plastic backing (which has the heater element in it) using a construction adhesive called Liquid Nails - glues pretty much any surfaces, and is good for outdoor temp ranges and moisture resistance.

I have done this and just used a thin smear of gorilla glue. Works perfectly, no bleed thru, and never lets go.

PO knocked the driver glass out by smacking it against the garage door jamb. Good driver, eh?
So he glued it back on, but didn't support the glass as the glue cured, so the glass slid down to the bottom of the housing, and now cannot be adjusted because it's jammed. I want to remove it and re-glue it, but I'm cautious about breaking it in the process.
