SoCal 90 S4, is it a ROW?

Does this look like its a ROW car, fender has the marker thing, and carfax has no early history.

Could be ROW, yes side markers and I don't think I see the gaudy bumperettes! Pics of the front and rear bumper might help, I think those are the only physical differences.......

Carfax makes me think it came from outside US. If I get a chance I will just swing by and have a look its not far from me.

This is really weird, but does anyone else fit this scenerio. Alot of the 928's I've bought and sold lately have the WP0JB0 serial number everywhere, except the one on the passenger inner fender, above the decal with the VIN # on it, and closer to the firewall. It's the VIN that's imbossed into the metal and not just a decal. Over half of the car's I've sold lately actually have the WP0ZZZ VIN # there instead. The rest of the numbers and letters are the same as the WP0JB0 VIN #. I thought that was kind of interesting. It was like they prepped it to be a ROW car, and then U.S.'d it instead.

Maybe I'm just nut's too! Who know's?

prior to '81 all cars were stamped at the factory with a serial # with it's appropriate designation #s ie
9288100034 for a RoW
9288200034 for US distribution
after '81 (introduction of universal 17 digit vin's) all cars were chassis stamped as RoW, then VINed according to destination (hence 2 diff #'s)
interesting enough, due to the early vin sequence, there are "twins" out there

The side flasher on this car (between wheel and door) is not the standard Porsche 928 side flasher. It must have been installed later.

I've heard some Japan cars start as US models, get shipped over, and sometimes turn up back in the states.

True, but you also find lots of cars from Japan that are ROW models and end up in Canada.

Japanese cars have a lil diff vin sequence
could be the car was overseas at some point and was fitted with the other markers
