What you're missing here is that Todd said he was willing to wager that he could get this car for $9000. I'm thinking the owner wants closer to $15,000. Since I would save $5000 if Todd were able to accomplish his wager I would be more than willing to pay Todd $1000.
Everything else in this thread is just Todd trying to weazel out of his offer to wager.

That's what makes the ongoing scuttlebutt so childish. Low Miler makes a common figure of speech and gets called out like he meant it as a "challenge" to someone. And considering LM was insulted for no apparent reason, he handled it quite well in his response. Hopefully people will quit trying to start crap with the guy. He posts beautiful 928's and can usually provide some facts related to the cars history. It just gets old seeing him get bashed all of the time. And I continue to hope he will not stop posting his finds.....

I have to agree that the bashing is lame. Dangler has found a place for himself here. Low Miler should be able to do the same. He didn't issue a challenge or bet and everyone knows it. What is this, third grade?

Oh, he's on there alright! Check one more time fabio, I'm sure you'll find it. If not, look under any of Low Milers old threads on Rennlist and I guarante you'll come across Charley B. And surprisingly, he never had anything good to say about me on there either. My God, I don't miss Rennlist one single bit! However, even though Pelican's alot less traveled than Rennlist, it's certainly not filled with all the hate and sheer cruelty Rennlist is waist deep in. The site is very one sided, devided into different cells or groups of pigpilers as they call it, unforgetful and unforgiveful, and very opinionated. Everyone is the only one that's right, everyone else is wrong. There's no middleground over there. And once the "Rennlist Knights of the Roundtable" is on your ass, well, your simply an outcast! Just like I eventually was..............

So I say, thank you Rennlist for eventually setting me free! Hell, otherwise I'd probably still be over there posting free great deals I came across while searching for my cars, and thus, taking a royal beating for it! In fact, my final thread that broke the camels back was titled, "great deal on a low mileage 5 speed '87 S4" of which I had absolutely no affiliation with. In fact, I think it was actually a dealer 2000 miles away that was listing the car for sale for way to low of a price. I thought I'd be nice as always and post it in case anyone was interested, and there were actually members going, "This has gotta be it, come on Randy, 3-2-1!", rooting for me to be banned for the free heads up. What a great, positive, funfilled, group oriented site that is! No thanks, this site actually appreciates these kinds of posts..............at least I think anyway? But please let me know if you feel otherwise, okay guys.

Anyway, like I said earlier in this post, I apologize for some of this Rennlist cancer actually following me over here, but like I said, it's totally benign, and will fade in time without any Pelican support...............of which so far they've received zero! Only the 1-5 post junior member, Rennlisters have shown any support, but they've been called out, and will find no support from anyone with any intelligence. I hate negativism, and love the positive attitude, vibe and togetherness of this forum. I certainly hope it continues to stay that way. And in time, I can promise you that Rennlist will eventually meet it's own demise out of the negativity aspect alone. And I can also betcha that the good from Rennlist will eventually find there way here as well!

Thank you Red Baron for the kind words of support and for actually being able to tell the difference between a "figure of speech" or a hypothetical comment, and an actual agressively pursued challenge in which I would have come out a loser no matter what the end result! If you think about it, the only two possible outcomes were to one, me to actually get the car for $9000 and sell it for waaay below value to and for a person that totally despises everything about me, and at best, make a poultry $1000 in the process, if indeed he actually came thru after all of my hard work, or two, not be able to get the deal done, while the same person I'm actually supposedly working for, roots against me to lose from the sidelines, so that he can collect $1000 from the master buyer and seller he hates so much! There's something seriously mentally ill about that whole damn thing! If I win, I lose, and I lose if I lose. Boy, I just wish these kinds of wonderfully positive, friendly and warm and fuzzy all over kind of offers came along more often! I'd certainly have my hands full of 928 seeking Rennlisters, that's for sure! ;)

Meanwhile, back in the real world, I truly only do such huge favors for people that I actually like, and respect, and in turn, feel the same about me. This seems to make more sense, wouldn't you agree?

But I will make this promise to all true and verifiable Pelican members (with more than just 3-4 posts, for example! ;)), that if you would like for me to locate or assist you in finding a great deal on a perfect 928, for absolutely no charge, I will. I have to many 928's right now and can't afford another one, so my talents are all yours, within available time limits, of course. Tip me if you want, or don't, it's all in how you feel about it afterwards.

And you can all thank Charley B for this wonderful idea! It truly was his brainchild and he should get all of the credit for it, but just no money or car, that's all. ;)
