No brake lights in my '81 928 track car: brake light brain?
It was suggested to me to try replacing the module above the fuse panel with another: Does anyone have an extra one of these I can try?
Both brake light pressure switches have been replaced, contacts are good, fuses are good, bulbs are good. Thanks! Mark

Do you have a part number or a picture?
Have you tried pushing the brake pedal down with a broom or something wedged to hold it and checking voltages?

I don't have good diagrams for the wiring on an '81. Pressure sensors on the master cylinder (on an '81. later cars there's a switch on the brake pedal) are new. No voltage through fuse when pedal is down, connector on the VDO box above the fuse panel is clean: not sure where to check for voltages on that box. It's black, plastic, bolts to a small frame that bolts where the wood door would hinge above the fuse panel.

that's the bulb controller Mark, might be the problem but might not
I assume you checked the bulbs? should be replaced in pairs also, if you just replaced the sensors on the MC, you did rebleed correct? also check to make sure no fluid dripped into the little rubber cover for the sensors, that will short them out as well

Yes, new sensors, rebled entire brake system at all 4 calipers, + cleaned out both connectors that connect to each of the 3-pin sensors under the master, both bulbs are correct for the car & new, fuse is good.

the fuse should feed block F on the panel, if I recall correct (no diagram in front of me) F7 and F10 are the in/out sources so you should be able to jumper them together and get a constant brake light on
I'll check this tonite and let you know
