'87 red/black 928 S4, auto, 10,000 miles, cheap!
I'm sure plenty of you are already well aware of this beauty, but for those that are not, I'll attach the link for you. As you all know, I've been buying and selling low mileage S4's, GT's and GTS's for years now, and can pretty much spot a great deal right away. This is definately one of those deals. I only have so much money and so much parking space available, and currently already have my hands full with a GT and a GTS I'm preping to sell in the next month, so I'm not taking on any new 928's right now, or I would have already bought this car. The last '87 928 I sold was the exact same color combo as this one, and was surprisingly an automatic as well. I sold it about 8 months ago and it had nearly 29,000 miles on it. It sold for $22,500, of which I took an early offer on with over 100 "watcher's" at the time, so I feel I undersold it. It was a 100 point car, and completely original. So is this one with only 10,000 miles on it, and they're only starting they're asking price at $22,900. That's 1/3 of the miles mine had on it! The best new's of all.......I definately smell blood in the water on this shark, and the seller say's to make him any reasonable offer, he'll most likely take it. It's also very well appointed with dual heated seats and lumbar on the drivers side. I'm only assuming, but would presume that when 928's are packed with extra goodies like seat heating, they'll nearly 100% of the time have limited slip as well.
Anyway, I have absolutely NO affiliation with this seller, but apparentely the owner of this 928 is also the owner of the new car dealership selling the car. It has a flawless Carfax and of course, I will attach that as well. The Carfax even show's the actual servicing dealer, their e-mail address as well as phone number. I think it's a one owner car, though it looks like it may be two. Could have just gone from his dealerships name to his personal name, who knows, who cares with only 10,000 miles on it! It looks to be complete and 100% original. I personally feel an offer of anywhere between $18K-$20K will buy this car right now. And that my friends, is priceless! Selling it outside of Ebay in a publication such as Autotrader.com or Cars.com would have this car easily fetching a price of nearly 30K! Just my opinion, .02 cents worth, suggestions, and all the info I could dig up on her. That, and I'd love to see someone from Pelican stepping up to buy this truly collectable S4! Good luck to any that are interested in this years 928 steal! Todd ![]()

This is the third time on ebay, maybe it will be the charm.
Listing ending 7/1 BIN was $35k, 4 bids highest was $16k Listing ending 7/9 BIN was $30k, zero bids with $15k opening. Has anybody looked this car over in person?

SLAM! it does not meet reserve, bidding is ended.
US $17,601.00 Reserve not met The seller lowered the reserve price. Buy It Now price: US $22,998.00 I have a lot of thoughts on this car, but nothing I want to stir up the pond with. I am a bit surprised that nobody popped up willing to pay more unless it has some obvious problem in person.

This car is for a person of who is most likely going to be a collector etc. It has 10,000 actual miles, no paintork and is in absolutely stunning condition.........from what it appears. I don't suspect there's one thing wrong with this car at all, but I haven't seen it in person, so I can't verify that. It's just my personal feeling. Jimmy123 is correct though, that if your planning on driving this car, it's premium will evaporate very quickly with each 1000 miles. And it is an automatic which would increase that depreciation even more quickly. However, for the avid collector with money to spend, and time to wait, these cars will have their day............................................... ..........eventually! And that 10,000 mile 928 S4 will be worth BIG BUCKS at some point. When that will ever be, who knows?
But back on a more realistic note. I've always bought and sold super low mileage 928's, most with less than 30-40K on them. However, for the first time ever, I purchased an absolute concours condition '89 GT last year with 119K on it for 11K and it was by far the nicest riding 928 I've ever owned, HANDS DOWN! I just assumed that all 928's drove kinda like trucks, but boy did that car ever change my mind. Apparentely, they need to get around 100K on them for the suspension to drive much smoother, quieter, and to not take bumps so damn hard. It was truly a pleasure to drive........and sell, too! ![]() ![]() If it were me looking for a 928 to buy for myself, I'd be looking at a great deal on a 70-80K '93-'95 GTS 5 speed. Now that would be a great deal! ![]() Todd

Two things to think about on a low miler, parts that age with time not miles like rubber, storage related problems like old coolant going acid and eating the heads etc.
You can't mess with a car like this one, no such thing as "upgrades". The 100k $11k GT sounds like my kind of car, except my first choice is a $30k 145k 83 apparently. ![]()
