What I have heard is that its because the dealers had such a hard time selling the GTS. Porsche forced them to keep one in stock and order another each time that one sold, so they ordered nothing but red and black for the lowest risk.
Look at the early cars if you want neat colors in a car for the US, or bite the bullet and respray. Top of my own list isn't exciting at all, White with linen or cork interior.

Those "fender flares" are just the standard rear flares for the Japanese models. Rare in Europe, and not really neccessary. In fact, they could be the reason why this thing hasn't been sold. Who wants all this extra stuff bolted to their car? I wouldn't...
Otherwise this car has nothing going for itself but the exterior color. The rest is pretty average for German 928s. I've seen many nicer ones at the 30-year anniversary party in Stuttgart last month. |

Oh, I'll totally agree with that. I've seen a ton of euro GTS's loaded up with leather everything, right along with a trees worth of wood accessories. Throw all that in with a crazy, yet beautiful aqua green interior or something just as unique, and you've got yourself one suuuuuweeeet GTS!

Thath first one is so bright, I guess you can only drive it with sunglasses - even at night... Not my cup of tea, even though rumors have it that Anatole Lapine drove a car like this. Maybe it is the one he used to drive - who knows?
