They are going to need an awesome set of tools and some experience to do it right. That looks like it was a clean 928 too..

I can't tell from the picts if the driver fender is damaged, doesn't look it, door I assume is toast, no idea on structural related to the door jam, and yeah that rear quarter would need some time, but I can think of a few 928 guys who could make that car perfect. The color is beautiful.

OTOH its always going to have a salvage title and the bid is $5.4k, add the cost of repair assuming it won't require a full respray, and its very interesting, but maybe only to a body guy.

Won't That Buff Out??

Agreed -- in the correct hands, this could be a true gem.
My Dad had a body shop when I was a kid... (I used to give pretty good verbal estimates 'back in the day!')...

It's a different looking silver, as well... But no room here, unfortunately...

I ended up in a different 'body biz' school... work weekends & holidays...
Life is full of trade-offs, eh?

Perhaps a 'project car' for Rog100, et al...

so $6k, plus parts, plus paint is about $15k for a salvage title
NOT a good idea if you ask me.... I'm all for saving 928s but this would have to be a keeper to justify the costs

Bid is up to $10k with 8 hours to go, must have a really clean tool kit.

I was thinking a good shop doing the work, buy a used door and replace all the door rubber and pull the rear quarter window with new rubber, maybe $4k with about $1200 or so in parts and paint.

The only way I can see someone making a bid like $10k is that they want this specific car, previous owner whatever. Sitting on an auction lot you can't more than guess at true condition and cost of repairs, plus I don't see it having a realistic market value of $15k even its its made like new again with a salvage title.

silver is not easy to match, figure on painting the whole car
a good paint job is easily $6k or more, count on trailing arms, shocks, door, molding, lock, handle, rubber etc, etc, etc

I would say $9k

Seems like it is steep to me...needs a full 1/4, door and paint job. I gave $10K for a full S4 with 30K in receipts...my car is very clean too, but it has 166,000 on it when I got it.

Looks like Venetian Blue Metallic at first look.
Way over priced for a salvage car
