I wonder how well a guitar tuner would work once we know the right note for 928 belt?

Why would you not just use the after market tool designed for the 928

You can set the belt by hand...but you must know how to read it. I set mine by hand for years. When I rebuilt my engine I bought the Kempf tool...set by hand and then checked. I was within the limits. I don't test my luck now and just use the tool when I work on the car.

2+2
Accountants answer is 4 Good accountants answer is, what do you want it to be? Besides, we all know the 928 answer to 2+2 is 2, nobody fits in those back seats. The Kempf tool seems to work OK, but many people still have tension related problems, so I am curious about other and more accurate methods of measurement. Dynamic tension measurement seems like it might provide some useful information we don't generally know as well.

Are you trolling by asking?
Chances are good that I will be using a Kempf tool. Its my first time and I plan to keep everything fairly conservative. I may also see what results I get with a cheap guitar tuner, nothing special is needed to pick up the fundamental frequency. I'm interested in other methods and how well they work. My original post was in response to seeing the Kricket being sold on ebay for use on the 928. Whats wrong with using a kricket on a 928 anyway?
