combo jack and jack stand

I saw this the other day at PepBoys, kind of interesting, but I haven't decided if its useful yet. Its a two stage jack stand with a hydraulic bottle jack builtin to raise the second stage. I think they were about $30 each. and I haven't found them anyplace else. Alltrade lists it in their section of patented products.

I'm sure it works, does it work well though?

What I was thinking was to jack up one side of a car, put this stand under, jack up the other side higher and put in a conventional stand, and then use this one to bring the first side up to level. Using them with Porken's lift bars I would think would work well, but so far no feedback from actual users.

Sears also has this system with a floor jack raising the jack stand.

The basic problem I see with all jack and jack stand situations with the 928 is that you have four lift points and the same place you want the jack stand to go, the jack needs to go. Thats what makes Porken's liftbars so attractive, jack from the middle of the bar, and the jack stands go at each end at or near the lift points under the lift bar.

Some people jack from suspension points, but I am too new to this stuff to feel comfortable doing that on my own, yet.
