clutch master cylinder
Have clutch master out,,which side (engine/cockpit side do the spacers that go over the mount bolts go on??
Do you have to remove the brake booster to get it back in? Any additional advise would be a great help,,,,also any profanity I might not know in Deutsch/English. Cheers Mike |

I do not remember any spacers when I r&r'd my clutch master cylinder, but if memory serves me correctly the cylinder goes flush against the floorboard/firewall. That being said, the spacers would go on the cockpit side (?)
No, you don't have to remove the brake booster, but I do remember taking it loose to provide me a little more room to wiggle the cylinder in and out..... Yes, it's something you'll cuss at for hours.......well, maybe for an hour or so. While you're at it (if you haven't already done this....), I suggest you replace the blue hose, the clutch slave cylinder, and the rubber hose. In fact, you might even think about replacing the brake master cylinder as well (have you checked your rubber brake lines--frame to caliper--as well?). If all of these pieces in your car are original, and you are just starting to replace them one by one, I always just recommend replacing them all at the same time. All of these items use the same fluid source, so why not also flush the brake system too while you're doing this? That's what I did with mine, and it's just peace of mind doing them all together....... If one piece has gone bad, the others may not be far behind...... Good luck!!!!
