Air pump out/in thanks everyone!
Job done: replace air pump:
Time: 3 hours (newbie) What: fried air pump. Not working anymore => no radiator fan cooling (share same belt). How: http://members.rennlist.com/sharkskin/Pages_SA_R06-SharkBitesBack-AirPump.htm Thanks to Russ for the air-pump he no longer needs (pulley). Sharkskin's write-up is great, easy to follow. Improvements: Didn't need to remove/move the air filter. Removing the fan housing provided enough space to remove the air pump. Getting it out was more difficult than getting it in. Moved heat-shield from my old pump, as it was still fully intact. Picture showing the old pump out (usefull for reference on how the pipes should be aligned). ![]() Remaining question/uncertainty: The airpump filter is not attached to anything else. Is this normal? Next week: Replace radiator (also spare parts Russ - thanks). BIG thanks to you all for advice etc. Pelican friend in France: Pauwl p.s. Russ, if you're wondering why I needed the radiator & condenser, see picture below. ![]() |
