What oil in after radiator out & grounding radiator? (Newbie)

Almost too embarrassed to ask...

I've replaced my radiator (thanks again Russ) as it was leaking about a litre (quart?) of fluid a week. There were small drips from the oil lines as well.

So I disconnected it all, connected the new one back up, filled the radiator BUT....

Q1) What was the red oil that leaked out the oil lines to the radiator? Doesn't look like my regular oil. What is it, and where do I re-fill/check it?

I followed Sharskins great pictorial, and all went well. I spotted the following though:

"You can see the very important ground wire attached to the passenger side fan shroud bolt here. This is to help prevent electrolysis which can be caused by an electrical potential between the radiator and ground."

Well, on his picture you clearly do see a wire grounding the radiator. My old one didn't have this.
Q2) Should I be adding this to the radiator?

thanks,

Pauwl

Thanks John.
Off to get it, then read up where to fill it up... I'm so new at this it scares me to think I actually pulled out the radiator at all...

I'd better buy another 928 otherwise I'll never get to re-use most of the stuff I'm learning I'll go talk to the wife....
