Suspension: Should it look like this?

While replacing brake discs & pads, I jacked up the car both sides.

Can anyone tell me if this is what I should see (car on stands)?

The plastic 'thingy' around the suspension shaft is chipped on the right wheel side. Left wheel side looks similar, but no chipping.

Anything wrong here, or just normal wear?

They cost over $10 new (if you can find them), and you have to pull the shock/spring assembly and disassemble the whole unit in order to replace it. I think the part number is 911.333.511.00.
