What to buy: Spark plugs
Round whateveritis is about to start with fixing/repairing/maintaining the '84 Euro 928S.
I'm doing around 8 000km/s per month (5000 miles/month) in the shark, and it's going from good to better. It's time for new spark plugs, can't remember when the last ones were replaced. So how do I decide which ones to get? I see the standard Bosch ones on the pelican list, but looking around I also see the 4-pronged Bosch Super 4 ones. Anyone have any favourites or things to stick far away from? p.s. I presume replacing the plugs is just a question of unscrewing the old ones & putting the new ones in. Am I wrong?

Copper plugs are the best to use.

I run copper plugs...never platinum in the turbo cars. Platinum lasts a long time, but it does not conduct electricity as well as copper and it also holds on more heat. The platinum is very thin as well. The absolute best is silver, but the cost is very high.

I did forget to mention I plan to do about 100 000km's a year on the car, will silver last any longer than the copper?

Just buy the plain copper, it works with no issues.

Just go with the standard coppers. As far as replacing them, its pretty simple. Just pull the plug dust boots and take the spark plug tool in the back of the 928s tool kit, insert it and unscrew. If you have copper plugs that have been there for a while, some may bind a little. Then just make sure the gaps are all spec and install.
