Question Putting a shine on two sets of slots

I have two sets of once polished slots, all 7" on my 84, and S4 7" and 8" to go on my 85 Euro. This is a LOT of area, mostly flat, with a lot of waking up the inner shine needed on both sets. I'm not looking at perfection, but I do want them mirror and as nice as practical from say 5 or 10 feet.

I'm thinking some kind of power tool, like maybe a 7" non orbital plain cheap polisher, and some kind of stuff, maybe Mothers mag wheel polish? Followed by Rejex. Any suggestions, BTDT? Tires are mounted on both sets, and since I just paid for it I would prefer to leave them mounted.

Go to http://www.ultracarcareproducts.com/ultracarcare3001.htm

They have a wheel polish that is fantastic. Give it a try...

From Ultracarcare would that be the E-Z Brite Metal Polish?

Wheels on my 84 Euro have dulled the most, so I am going to start with them, and using the mildest polish and work my way up.

HF had their 7" variable speed polisher back on sale for $20, so I picked up one of those and a little rolling stool to get down to tire level. I'll report back on how it goes.

Yep that would be the stuff! It brings out a very nice shine with the minimal amount of elbow grease.

I can be pretty minimal.

Thinking about letting my son do it.

Garage
load up all of your wheels, take them to Eloy/Casa Grande, AZ.

locate any of the truck stops there---T/A Truck Stop is where I get mine truck done, in the back lot near Little Sister's Truck wash.

10 illegals with grinders, buffing wheels, and a parking lot of jeweler's rouge will turn a nasty set of wheels into a mirror finish.

All for the measly some of about $5 per wheel........

Short of that, Sears has grinders, cutting/buffing wheels, and three shades of jeweler's rouge in stock----at least they do at my two nearest stores.

Start with the brown, then green, then white. Use liquid white rouge for the final polishing.

Right down the street from 928Intl (where I almost live, 10 miles away) is Al Reed polishing, same sort of operation, SoCal pricing. The wheel guys that came to Sharktoberfest seemed to do a really nice job, but it was flat rate to refinish, and I can't remember if it was $50/wheel or $125/wheel, but when they were done it was like new, for painted anyway.

Tomorrow I will start messing with the 7" variable speed polisher and either a terry or microfiber bonnet, with various types of goop. Oddly enough I already have red, green, and white jewelers compounds, but I think first will be Mothers 5100.
