avoid - socalbrit5@yahoo.com

After the comments below I would like to add a final comment - Ebay finally did help settle my dispute with socalbrit5 by forcing him to repay my money - plus shipping. I had all the emails from the purchase - to his agreement to refund my money on the return of the wheel. I also provided Ebay photos of the wheel, statements from a wheel shop plus my return shipping receipt of the wheel to California. Let's just say socalbrit5 did not apologize or explain his actions - I just received an overnight certified check through Fedex. Karen Here is an update - ebay is in contact with Frank Clark and has agreed that he did not refund my money as agreed. I have multiple emails to back up my complaint but really ebay seems very uninterested. Frank continues to sell automotive items on ebay unimpaired. This may be an expensive lesson. Karen Avoid this guy at all costs – I bought a Porsche wheel with center cap on ebay from this guy only to receive the wheel missing the center cap. He 1st promised to send a cap or refund part of my money. Then after I had a new tire mounted on the wheel, the mechanic found that all of the mounting lug nut holes were wallowed out beyond safe limits. Frank then said I was over reacting but just ship the wheel back to him and he would refund my money plus the return shipping cost. Once the wheel was received he dropped off the map. This was my first purchase on Ebay - who basically said “That is the saddest story they every heard – take a flying leap”. At this point I am out the price of the wheel, the center cap, the mounting-balancing /dismounting the tire and the shipping to California. Avoid socalbrit5@yahoo.com Frank Clark located at 2346 East Cameron Ave, West Covina Ca, 91791 at all costs. Ebay recommended taking Frank Clark to court - Any other ideas ? Thanks, Karen Last edited by JK McDonald; 08-11-2008 at 06:51 PM..

Karen, You need to work your dispute through ebay or PayPal. The advice you got here was to talk to Russ or Roger who are both in TX, and known good sellers, with the type of wheel you were looking for. Its just not a good idea to drop some dirty laundry in the forum. The ebay safe harbor community forum is the best place for this discussion. Also you gave us his email and home address, but not his ebay ID, which is the only way anybody could avoid a transaction with him. Checking from his email address I can find out his ebay feedback which is 821 (97% positive), and that makes me wonder how much at fault the seller might actually be. Thanks for the info, I am about to purchase some E-bay parts to get little things fixed on my 928. I have been in a dispute for two months with a group called Nacho's interiors over a 1980 SL interior that I am restoring...they have failed to ship but charged my card! Brian

I read through the most recent couple hundred feedback reports, and what I see is a pattern of slow shipping and poor communications, but 97% seem to get item as described, and most of the negatives come off as buyers to avoid. I'm not saying that those 3% don't have legitimate complaints, but they are not articulated as such. Here is an example. ******* this seller rip me off for $300.00 dollars. never got the item that I paid for, Buyer: gate36 ( 97 ) Jul-25-07 15:11 Reply by socalbrit5 (Jul-25-07 15:36): Wheel cap shipped and received.$9.00 item??? ******* Without a follow up, which the buyer fails to make, it looks like they are lying. Reading between the lines I suspect that buyers have had a bad transaction, which they failed to follow up on before it was too late to file with ebay or paypal, so they bought some small item with the intention of leaving a negative feedback. Thats a buyer to avoid.
