NO AFFILIATION!

It was just posted today on Autotrader.com, and though the miles are high, it does have a great service history, no accidents on Carfax and it is an '89 model year car. It would probably make a great 928 5 speed beginner car, or better yet, an excellent track car! And I'll bet $7500 would buy it too! But I could be wrong though............

Possibly, or maybe you'll just get lucky with this one. Either way, at that price with it's good looks still intact, verifiable service history and so on, it seems like a great starting point for the 5 speed 928 enthusiast, tracker, or first timer.......

What do you think about this one Todd??? it's only 5 minutes and two stop lights away form your house:
http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail.jsp;?tracktype=usedcc&searchType=22&pageNumber=0&numResultsPerPage=50&largeNumResultsPerPage=0&sortorder=descending&sortfield=PRICE+descending&certifiedOnly=false&criteria=K-%7CE-ALL%7CM-_41_%7CH-1%7CD-_387-388-389-390_%7CN-N%7CR-10000%7CI-1%7CP-PRICE+descending%7CQ-descending%7CX-popular%7CZ-98801&aff=national&paId=255025082&recnum=1&leadExists=true

Here's what I had to say...
Hans and I checked out the car on Sunday and it was about what one might expect given the price. The car was originally blue and has been painted pearl white… not the best paint job either. They painted a lot of the black trim pieces like around the sunroof and between the body and bumper covers. Other than the paint, the body appears to be in pretty good shape. There are a few chips in the paint (which is blue underneath) with one about the size of a quarter by the wheel on the passenger front fender.

The car starts and runs nice. Hans did all the driving and thought the shifting was a little tuff, but both the leather boot and especially the rubber boot underneath were buggered up a bit. It sure felt like it was pulling strong, but Hans thought maybe the clutch might have slipped a bit.

I believe the owner said the timing belt had been changed while he owned it which has been something like 5 years and 10K miles. The car has just a tick over 100K on it now.

The interior was appropriate for the car… not the worst I’ve ever seen and nowhere near concourse. The driver’s seat has a slight hole from wear on the bolster. The pod and dash have been resurfaced and not the greatest job. Everything else was in decent shape and the tool kit was complete.

None of the shocks would hold up the trunk lid or the hood. The radiator has been replaced and the windshield washer cap was missing. It could probably use some new motor mounts. Couldn’t tell in the A/C was working and we didn’t check to see in the compressor was engaging.

Overall, I think this would be an excellent track car or a decent driver/beater car for someone that isn’t too particular about looks. I have a number of pictures if anyone is interested.
