Weak....weak sauce indeed. You had the brakes held power brake style.

I'm just kidding, I like it.

kinda like a viking funeral, hahaha... the tire shop front door was only about 100' in front of me and we were less than 1/4mi from the sherriff station in the middle of town, so I had to make it quick and didn't have a lot of room to really let it rip but the folks there enjoyed the show...

my kid did the video, I guess he learned bad filiming technique from watching mom and..er.. nevermind hahaha

prolly be the last burnout for a while, trying to make these last longer than the 3k miles I got off the last rears... guess we'll see how disciplined I can be... got... to... try... harder... not... to... melt.. my...... tires, arrrggghhh

You should check out his 928 link. 6.4 stroker motor. I wouldn't be running Euro gearing if I were pushing out that kind of torque.

thx.. been a work in progress for the last 10 yrs or so. it's still needing a bit of interior work (new custom visors & shifter boot, and the frigging defroster vent leather pulled up again), but it should be wrapped up in the next week or two w/any luck. then I'll do some decent interior shots before the SOCAL sun melts everything again.

wheels are from DR at 928 specialists, got them used w/some decent rubber for $2700 a couple of years ago... they are lighter than the tires! offsets are just enough to let me cram the biggest rubber that'll clear the frame and w/rolled fender edges.

still gotta redyno it on the dynojunk when I get a chance to compare the new blackbird intake/bigger injectors/windage setup/larger headers/custom sharktuned chips it has now.

on greg's mustang dyno it loosely dyno'd/converted to 436rwhp/505ftlbs tq, w/all the new goodies. but the dynojunk will be a better test as that's what it was done on before. should be good for a hoot, I suppose/although my seat o' the pants meter says it's pulling a lot more in the mid & top end now vs before and that's what I wanted in terms of drivability.

can't wait for AX season to get rolling

I just got my shift boot back from Paul done in black Alacantara, it should be back in the car at Greg's shop later this week if you want to look it over. My old rubber knob was in sad shape, but this Alcantara stuff is growing on me, maybe a steering wheel is next.

that's nice stuff... I think it's more durable than regular leather too! I wish I'd done that w/my dash at least - these 928's are like a greenhouse w/all the large windows, seems pretty rough on everything inside.

I was hoping to have him do a quick corner balance and oil change soon. was hoping for this week, but it's snowing here so the old gal is grounded till this storm passes.

I'll bring the other stuff down when I come down for that/hopefully next week at the latest.

cheers!

Apparently its great for a headliner, I'm mixed on what to do with the dash, where I prefer plain vinyl.

I'm starting to think carbon fibre for the dash would be durable... or steel or wood, hahaha

Hmmm 436whp 505wtor...... I can PERSONALLY attest that this sounds very plausible for Robs stroker.......after a quick test drive last month and many tire destroying burnouts & 1 brake check (yes those 265 front 295 rear tires will lock up and leave 80 ft of skid marks) its safe to say it is FAST........

My guess is on a dynojunk he will be closer to 450whp....... The only real seat of the pants comparo I have is a 98 Viper GTS (450hp-490tor) that typically dyno around 400whp in a car 100lbs lighter than a 928......& Rob's stroker feels at least as fast as the Viper...about the same down low...with more higher in the rpms....which is impressive since Vipers make silly low end torque! I can say with 100% confidence that Rob brakes are BETTER than the Viper...that thing sucked

beats me brian... numbers are just numbers, I think I'm like most here & just go for the fun factor... is it fun? yes = ok to stop spending $$ on it, no= spend more $ and ask again until answer = yes or your wife makes you sleep in the garage, hahaha
