Hmm. It's only been driven about 3000 miles since 1994 if you believe the auction. Probably hasn't had an oil change since then either!

Ridiculous! It may have low miles but not without issues and it is not 'all original' as stated! The rear wheels are a different finish, there's that silly aftermarket doodad keypad thing on the pod and the front spoiler is missing. I love the disclaimer that it was "repainted professionally" (Maaco as opposed to somebody's garage?). No mention of a timing belt job either, I don't think I'd even consider starting the car if it has sat around in CA enough since '84 to only rack up 22k miles and there is no record of a belt job (even if it isn't an interference engine). Some poor fool sees a shiny red 928 with low miles and is going to bid silly high on it assuming it is like buying a Honda Civic with 21k miles... Looks like a little fleabag car dealer that picks up used European cars on the cheap, cleans them up enough to photograph OK and flips them. Good luck to the winner of that auction.

Repaint kills it for me, not to mention my 145k mile 83 is about the same condition and only has had a portion of the rear quarter repainted.

If its the dealer I think it is, yes its a small one, but they got several cars from some local collector last year, this could be another one. Maybe somebody will remember the other car I am talking about, low miles like this one, but a basket case of stuff needed replacement like it wasn't stored in the best of fashions.

What kills it to me is the fleabag dealer that owns it. The fact that if it had to be repainted at 21k miles means to me that it probably hasn't been stored properly for a significant portion of its life (or it wasn't taken care of when actually used). I have an '80 Triumph Spitfire with 9k original miles that has just sat in its own garage since new (too afraid it would fall apart to drive it), the car would have gone to pieces long ago if I didn't change the oil yearly, drive it around the block a few times during the summer and keep the other fluids fresh.

You replied when I was writing that, case in point.
