Question for a friend
I have a friend who is one of those rare people who doesn't use the Internet.
![]() He has a pristine 77' "grey market" car brought in from Germany and the radio recently died. There's no way a new unit will fit without doing a hack job. Any suggestions on a replacement? TIA! |

Check this thread from last week, everything is available, best to list the VIN and or option codes to to find out what it originally had.

The very best place to find an old style radio is on German eBay.
Bamberg CR was one that was fitted to your friends car. If you have a picture I can help a little further. Some specialist companies also rebuild the units to factory new. Let me know if I can help you? Roger@************

as for the radio, have him call Stefan at SW Stereo, if he has the original unit, Stefan most likely can fix it

The few times I've called SW Stereo they seemed uninterested in helping with older stereo issues, either to repair or locate (they didn't have what I was looking for). Just my experience.
