is "J24" an option code
I just discovered that a previous owner actually wrote the option codes in the warranty book (the build sticker on my '81 is long gone) I figured out all the other ones, but "J24" is listed...i can't find that on any of the usual lists i have..any ideas? thanks

I remember seeing a one-owner 1981 928 for sale a while back that was advertised as having the "J24 options group", which I believe is a specific "bundle" of several option codes. I could be wrong though.

Competition Package cars possibly? combination of diff options available in 81 and early 82 prior to the official release of the S in the US

Quick way to tell if it is the competition package is if it has "S" front brakes and spoilers. I have an 82 that has the competition package. I can't remember the code but the package consists of dual comfort seats, limited slip, front & rear spoilers, platnum wheels, and "S" brakes.
The option codes for early cars were written in the warranty/maintenance book. The build sheets did not appear until later. I think it was 84 or 85... I'm sure someone else knows the specifics. |
this sounds promising, although i know i do not have "S" brakes because i have changed the pads
The other options codes were light metal wheels, automatic air conditioner, and high amperage battery.. I had figured this car must be somewhat "deluxe" because it has power passenger seats, which the owners manual says is optional..perhaps "J24" included that amongst other things? |
