No affiliation, but I just came across this one during one of my daily 928 searches. It just appeared today and I suspect it won't make it thru the close of the day today. I did run a Carfax on it and it's clean with no issues. I talked to the owner briefly and he said the drivers window regulator probably needs replacing as it's tempermental. The timing belt was done in the 50K range, but nearly 8 years ago. The cars sat for 5 years on the same tires, so most likely flat spotted. Starts right up and runs great, according to the owner, of course. ![]() I asked for the owner to send any pictures as he's a pilot and won't be back in Nashville, TN (where he lives and where the cars located) until Tuesday. Here's the only picture he sent me: ![]() It looks like it may be a good deal, especially for anyone near the Nashville, TN area. It's not an 86 1/2, but it is an '86 with a 5 speed tranny, black on black, low miles and cheap.....I think? Anyway, I hope this finds somebody with possible interest. Fee free as always........ courtesy of, Low Miler ![]()

TB/h20 kit and a set of tires would be the immediate concern....would not drive it anywhere without this being done.

Fun to watch, but sitting for 8 years can be very very bad. After two years the coolant can go acid and eat the heads from the inside. Not just the heads either, but all sorts of parts of the coolant path.
Problems don't have to show up right away, or even be detectable right away, but a month and a thousand miles later things can start to go south. Pockets eaten into the heads leave very thin supported areas for the head gaskets around the cylinders, and when that blows out you get to inspect the interior of the motor and weep. 8 years sitting at best we are talking a LOT of hoses, new tires, and the big one, going through the whole electrical system. Still could be a great car for someone, but low miles can come at a price. |
