Aston Martin Headlight Assy -

Has anyone successfully changed out the headlight assemblies on a 928 for one of the newer stationary aerodynamic units ? There are a couple of web sites that seem to indicate that the Aston Martin DB7 lights are supposed to bolt right in without any modification. A basic price search shows that a used Aston Martin halogen headlight assembly is in the $200 range - the price for a new unit is stratospheric insanity.

There were also a few alternatives that appeared to be primarily made up of a flat glass plate covering a couple of smaller high intensity bulbs. In my opinion these did not look as attractive as the sleeker Aston Martin headlights. It might make a nice change to the front profile but I kind of like the “ears laid back” look of the 928 when the headlights are down.

Michael,

Is this where you saw it?

Does anyone know who that person is and how I can get ahold of him? That's the nicest looking headlight conversion I've seen. I'm in the middle of adding lights to my racer now.

PorKen Products -

Hey Barbapapa, Yes - this is one of the sites showing the aerodynamic headlights installed on a 928 but the only name that I recognized was Porken. He evidently built (or sponsored) the white 928.

There is a website called Porken.com that provides a number of improved 928 parts such as - flex plate clamps, timing belt tensioners , adjustable clutch stops and cam timing tools….. Perhaps contacting the Porken Product Site would be a good starting point to find out how well the modified headlights fit.

Hi

I would think there is a market for that kit if it was a "full" conversion kit.... I would have one for a start...

All the best Brett

JK, I'm familiar with Porken and have asked him about this. The Aston one is different though. It looks just right, which is something none of the other conversions can say.
