Black ext, Champagne int with Black, which for dash and headliner?

My 85 Euro 5 spd is black exterior, full leather int mostly champagne with black armrests, dash, pod, and headliner/hatch. I like the black contrast on the armrests, and wrapping that around would include the dash, pod, and steering wheel, but I am thinking about champagne for the A pillars, headliner, and hatch.

Steering wheel will be leather, but I am looking at a lot of Ultrasuede type stuff for the door panels, A pillars, etc. so I would not be that concerned with glare off the dash if I used champagne.

Perhaps?

Fyi. . .

FYI -- unless the 'white balance' is way off -- color depicted in photos is NOT champagne... This I know!

Your right, it's not champagne, it's cashmere, but their similiar enough in color to give an idea of the tan and black combo and the placement of each of them together. Get it? ;)

That interior is a beauty Todd, very striking.

My interior is almost the opposite, more of a blond color, light carpets and black dash. Either I swap it all, or find something to go with what it has.

Makes me think John Moch is right, the carpet should be the first thing you pick, its the foundation for the rest of the interior. Good news is that this will be slow going on the interior, so plenty of time to think about options.

My car was originally black, but was repainted by the PO a "graphite" color. Think of a UPS truck in metallic, and you get the idea.

It came with a worn-out gray-beige interior from the factory. At some point some cheeseball PO replaced the seat leather with vinyl. OUCH! It used to tear the skin off of my legs.

I looked at the color and it appeared to be "champagne" to me. I ordered new champagne carpet, and that is exactly what showed up- champagne, not the gray-beige the car was built with. I kind of liked the champagne better, so I installed the different color carpet and had the interior re-tanned to match. The seats? I bought all new black seat leather for the front seats, and had the rear's re-tanned black to match the fronts. Why? Resistance to dirt. Also, I figured it would look cool. I added black floor mats and this is the result:

Normy, Todd, does the headliner match the interior or is it black?

Seems like most options in the interior actually work pretty well. My other car has an all black interior and even that works pretty well. What I end up with could depend on which parts I have or can find that are in the best condition, but as it sits the dash and seats needs to be redone, so I can pick those I think, unless I end up finding a nicer set of seats.

Normy,

That's an awsome looking interior, and in great shape too! ;) Just my .02, but wouldn't some champagne piping on those black seats pull it all together nicely? Again, just my .02, but still gorgeous as it sits.

Here's a pic of the one I sent. By the way, these pictures are from Tom Sellecks former 928.

I was in a hurry so I didn't take a picture, but looking at my 85 after looking at these pictures I think I have champagne carpets and cashmere seats and interior except for black leather on the dash, console, armrests, A pillars and headliner.

Very possible. I once had an '89 GT with cashmere carpets and champagne seats with black piping. The rest of the interior was black. The carpet was so trashed that I replaced it with black carpet and it looked terrific. Here's the info on that same car, post carpet change and after the guy I sold it to, traded it in. I've decided I am never going to paint my calipers red. ;)

Outstanding decision! Very '90's ish. And that was all the new owners work, not mine, naturally. I'm a 100% original kinda guy.
