wheel offset questions

does anyone know off the top of there heads if the wheels off the later model 944 turbos (52mm offset) will fit onto the 86 (early 86) 928S. im not sure what the offset is, but i know the s4 can wear the later model wheels, but can the early 86's

if it helps. I just mounted 18x10 et65 on the front and it cleared with full lock turns!

Re: wheel offest

The 928S (1980-1986) had a wheel offset of 65mm front and rear. The late model 944 Turbo wheels will not work because of the front wheel offset which you mentioned is 52mm, this means that the tires will stick out about 1/2" each side when mounted on a 928S. You may have some scrubbing issues and steering instability.

The needed offset changes with the width of the wheel. You need to know the width to know if the offset will work. I have 17x9 with 245's @ an et55 offset up front. Only on the worst pot holes to I rub. No rub lock to lock.

I agree with S4hounddog that stock 944 rims will not fit up front.

chassisresearch: is your shark lowered??

I think my car has 18x9 et86mm on the front, on a 2" lowered 928, only "barely" rubs on near full lock, which is fine by me. :)
