Selling S/C 928 on ebay. Should I.....?

part out the s/c kit rather than sell as a whole? because the car isn't cosmetically new or nice, seems the car will bring less than the kit would if totally parted out. How difficult are the parts to sell? the s/c kit will fit any 928 85 and up. everything on the car works(with exceptions), it just sat for so many years outside. 73k miles on the car.

any ideas? just let it go for what it brings?

Try selling as is with a higher reserve. You instal labor should be worth something..

The eaton kit is much less desired than the 928MS or 928GT versions. Looks too home made IMO. How much do you think you'd get for the SC alone? Someone just sold a NIB 928MS set up for $4K, guessing a used Eaton would go less than half of that?

Selling the SC on the car will be giving it away, it adds ZERO to the value and limits the number of potential buyers.

Parts, especially specialty parts sell well IF they are still desireable, mostly I think because they are cheap to ship.

Price of the 928's depends on the actual condition, but it could easily be less than $10k for the pair, maybe a lot less depending on how much damage sitting results in.

I'm not really sure. It adds 100whp to the 85 32v. I'm sure its worth at least 3k. A kit doesnt have to look great to add hp. I sold one of these same kits on ebay a year ago with a buy it now for 2800 and it sold in just a few mins which tells me I should sell seperately.

I just wanted to get other opinions because last year I just put it out there and didnt ask anyone first.

I'm really on the fence with this

Set the BIN at maybe $3500 this time, and see what happens, or don't bother with a bin and sell it in a true auction.

Post some pics of your cars, one thing for sure is that their value is going DOWN fast by sitting outside. Rats get into the hoses and wiring and you could be unloading non starting parts cars.

Interior shot of the car takes it down to $1500 tops. Get the interior back together and you can get alot more, maybe $5K for just the car? And then $3K for the SC kit?

BTW it ads 100hp at 5.5psi? Seems like changing the pulley should net much better results at 9psi...

The cars are on ebay now. Both get garaged and driven occationally. No rubber is dry and both are perfectly working cars. The blue one is 100% garaged.

Was just asking if reasonable to sell engine parts and such.

The console was like this when I bought it. Runs fine....very strong. I left it apart(console and glove box) with intentions of gradually making nicer. Just never got around to it. Maybe someone who doesn't care much about interior(put in some nice seats and guages etc)

I could run 9 psi but didnt know how much this car would take. seems 5.5 is safer.

5.5 is very safe. Makes for a great daily driver with a little extra punch. Folks are running 12-15psi on SC and turbo sharks just fine.

If you can get ahold of even a beat center console it would help sell the car. When I see a picture like that, my first thought is "Run away". Just constructive critisism. Remember one bad pic and ebay folks hit the back button. In fact you would do better removing the pic and just noting in the description that the center console is missing.

Also the car seems to sit a little high in the rear.

yes it does from the left because i had the right side jacked up a little to check the tranny fluid. but if you look at the pic from the right rear its normal.

BTW I don't know about other people, but a private ID auction means I only bid my lowest amount, and assume I'm bidding against a 10 year old in Canada sneaking on his mom's acct. Most of the time I make no bid, and wait to see if the high bidder flakes, then make an offer.
