Angry Tough two weeks

Friday before last, I'm leaving the base after work and the car dies. I'm dressed for work (white shirt & tie) so I can't climb around it to try to figure out what was wrong so I have it towed home. Key in the run position and the injectors were going coo coo and the fuel rail was clicking like a snare drum. Turned out to be a corroded relay. Clean the connections (the whole box) and now it runs fine.

Get the car running, Tues following week both sunvisor clips break (one right after another, about 15 min apart andthey are both less than 6 mos old!).

The following Thurs, one of the coin holder platic caps shoots out and the spring goes flying.

Last night my headlights freak out. They are rotating past the stop postition and the arm is coming to rest against the AC condensing coil (why???).

And this evening on the way home, I hop in the car to find the rear view mirror sitting on my shift boot!

What a crazy 14 days!

Looking for help with the headlights! Someone ever come across this before?

Thanks,
Robert

OOh forgot to mention the passenger side window switch also went kaput!

Wow, that really is a rough couple of weeks! My 87's coin holder JUST did the same exact thing last week, weird. I wish I could help you with the headlights but am clueless. Can you tell me what you did to get your injectors back online, I think that's what the story is with my '87. Which relay did you have issues with and what all did you do to correct it. I'll owe you one if it saves me a trip to the local Porsche mechanic as I'm at my wits end right now!

Headlights have some kind of switch in the motor, and some relay, bound to be one or both. Alan will know what you need to do.

You have my sympathy for sure, but I know a bunch of guys with cars that haven't run "yet" or in months, its the bitter with the sweet.

Relay info.....

Here is a link to the 928 Specialist page with the fuse chart (In case you don't have it). It was the XXV relayLH Jetronic-Fuel Injection (141.951.235.B). It's the second from the right on the top row.

Fuse/relay link: https://www.928gt.com/t-8788fuse.aspx

Get a fingernail file and clean the contacts in the fuse/relay box too. I took a pice of fine sand paper and folded it in 1/2 and trimmed it so it would fit. Hope it works!

Houston? I think it's the heat in S. Texas. The sunvisor clips were "soft" from the heat the day they broke. Same with the coin holder. Oh well, I need to move to a cooler climate. You don't have to worry about me coming to Houston, it's as hot and even more humid. Yuck!
