1979 5spd Clutch Safety Switch?
What's to keep the engine from starting without the clutch pedal being depressed?
There's a microswitch on the clutch pedal assembly, but as far as I can tell that only serves to disengage the cruise control. |

nothing. Clutch engagement no-start switches didn't start until the mid to late 80s.
The microswitch is to disengage the cruise.
