WTF? Jet Powered 928.
Don't get too excited, its from a small turbine generator, not a helicopter etc., more novel than fast.
I won't get excited until I see the batman style afterburner sticking out the back.
What kind of power do those things make anyway? Would it be a good salt flats car for top speed? I'm guessing acceleration would be less than stellar. |
I thought 928 water pumps were crazy expensive but youde need a machine shop to own that one...I wonder if it come with a black 'flight box' in case it breaks down??
or you could show up to the 928 events with the only 928 themed grill for cooking hotdogs and burgers....... don't get the grease on your windshield tho...
A few months back it was for sale in Portland or Seattle on Craigslist and the local wild life posted a long thread on rennlist. IIRC the hp is something like 150, but with a fairly wide torque band, but it could have been less and not very wide.
Utterly hilarious. I'd also like to point out that it looks more like a steam engine than a jet engine. Still, in a perverse way I feel a great lust to own it!
This car was on ebay awhile back. You can catch water with that big air intake.
The turbine only produces 150hp....

625hp...but 2050 ft lbs of torque. Of course, it won't make a very good 928 engine......:( --Russ |
