1985 928 owners manual in German?
I'd kind of like to get the original owners manual for my 85 Euro, the German version since thats what the pod has. I thought about looking on ebay.de, but how would I buy stuff, make a new acct or something?

I have one. It is the exact one that came with my car, and even has the service intervals filled out. It has the motor number, and the VIN as well. Sorry, can't sell it to you, but if you want pictures or such I can probably try to scan and send.
As to eBay.de I think you have two choices: 1. Learn German, or 2. Find a friend who speaks German... Good luck! N |

I can speak German, but not well or very technical.
Maybe I can order one from Porsche? Maybe somebody here will want to sell one. Maybe somebody here already has a German ebay acct and we can work something out. |

Dangler, your best bet is to send Nicole an email. She's from Germany, lives in Oakland, and maybe she knows where to get one. I can scan mine, but it will take several hours, and it will result in paper, not an '85 owners manual.
-I have two owners manuals: the one that came with my car and has its' VIN number, and an '85 US version. The moron.... [Get this....he was a PROFESSOR of statistics at Central Florida Community college....in Ocala, Florida!] that owned my car before me didn't speak German, so he bought a US-model owners manual. I keep it around, just as a reference, since the WSM's cover all the important points. -It is apparently too hard to buy a German language book and try to figure out what the long words mean. I mean...a professor can't be expected to STUDY or anything right-? Europeans are FAR more likely to service or work on their own cars! The ROW '85 owners manual goes more in depth as to the servicing of the car than the US model does. The best example of this is the detail regarding the headlights and the driving lights. Porsche gives far better information about the bulbs used in the Austrian manual that came with my car than the US manual that I have on the side. N! Last edited by Normy; 10-30-2008 at 03:16 PM.. |
