Suspension boots ...?

Rubber boots are used to keep the dirt out of lubricated parts of our suspensions. Many times these rubber boots fail long before the metal parts, and once dirt gets in, the metal parts soon fail with expensive results. Unfortunately Porsche does not sell all of the boots separately. This thread is for listing all the parts and locating alternative replacement sources.

I'm working on my Euro 85 and using its parts to measure stuff. Some items are the same for all years, some 78-82, some 83-86 etc., so be sure to check before ordering. Feel free to correct or comment as pertains to other models.

List of all the suspension boots;
Upper ball joint.
Lower ball joint.
Steering rack bellows. 928.347.191.03
Tie rod ball joint.
CV joint bellows. 928.332.924.02

Details to follow in next post.

Upper ball joint.
Replacing the upper A arm is costly, even kits to replace just the ball joint are costly, fortunately the same boot is used on I think an Audi A6 98-02 and replacements are available from 928Intl.com and 928rus.com .

The boot off my car has the following in raised letters.
"025 - 0002 - 244 - 009 P2"

Wide end of the boot is secured with a wire "spring clip" that fits into a groove on the boot which fits into a groove on the ball joint. Small end of the boot also has a groove, but no matching groove or detent on the ball joint rod, and the clip is a solid ring, not a spring.
IDs of clips are 36mm, and 19mm.
IDs of boot are 34mm and 15mm.

Lower ball joint.
Lower A arm is also costly to replace, but the ball joint is sold as a separate assembly for about $130. Unfortunately no replacement boot has been found so far.

The boot off my car has the following in raised letters.
"030 0002 103 009 P GERMANY"

Wide end of the boot is secured with a wire "spring clip" that fits into a groove on the boot which fits into a groove on the ball joint. Small end of the boot also has a groove, but no matching groove or detent on the ball joint, and the clip is a solid ring, not a spring.
IDs of clips are 40mm, and 22mm.
IDs of boot are 38mm and 18mm.

Hope we find a replacement soon.

Tie rod end joint.
The tie rod end joints on each side of the steering rack are fairly cheap, less than $70 each here on Pelican, but why replace the whole thing when all it needs is a new boot.

The boot off my car has the following in raised letters.
"022 0002 904 009 P2"

Wide end of the boot is secured with a wire "spring clip" that fits into a groove on the boot which fits into a groove on the ball joint. Small end of the boot also has a groove, but no matching groove or detent on the ball joint, and the clip is a solid ring, not a spring.
IDs of clips are 30mm, and 20mm.
IDs of boot are 31mm (29mm inside grove) and 16mm.

This end is under the steering rack bellows.
