87+ Flywheel to lend or measure?
Does anyone have a flyweel or flexplate I could buy or borrow for measurements?
I'm going to make a flywheel and need the measurements of the 60-2 teeth and the relation of the gap. The condition or usability isn't important.

I should be able to have access to one for measuring. What sorts of things do you need measured?

Hi Danglerb.
I need to know the overall diameter of the 'teeth' to determine the gap with the sensor. That needs to be an accurate measurement but it's probably an exact number rounded in millimeters knowing Porsche. I also need to know where the 2 missing teeth are relative to TDC, ie the offset hole and dowel on the flywheel. That one might be tricky to measure. It may possibly be easier for me to walk over to my unmolested 87, pull some parts and measure on the car.

Aren't those numbers that Carl might know off the top of his head given the lighter flywheel things he is doing?
This is a short week for me, CES in Las Vegas starts Wednesday, but I plan to make a stop at Precision before I go. If a flywheel is handy I will measure as best I can and take some picts perhaps so its clear what and how I am measuring. |
