Headliner
I have a 5 spd '78 928 no sun roof car. At the back of the headliner both sides by the hatch, there is a rectangular opening. They looks like access holes for the hatch hinge bolts. Are there covers that go these. Also, thats the spot where the headliner is sagging a bit both sides. Are there retaining clips that go there to hold up the headliner/cardboard.? If I have to, I'll hot glue in place but I'd rather not. Again, thank you all for a great forum. Man I love this car. If I ever hit the lottery, I'd send it back to Germany to Porsche for a complete make over. Am I nuts, have I been bitten by the 928 bug or ?

I'm guessing you need these http://mailordercentral.com/928intl/prodinfo.asp?number=U928%20555%20254%2050
I'm missng them also but I have so much other stuff on the interior to fix that it just hasn't been an issue yet. |

I think I have eaten the whole bug farm. Who knows, it might pay off somewhere in the far future (there I go again daydreaming).

part is #2 in the above diagram---"cap" is the cover for access to the hatch bolts.
and don't pay $30 for them. somebody here may have and extra set they'll give you..... --Russ

Wow, I agree, I don't think I'll spend $30.00 for a set of plastic covers. This car is not a trailer queen. I will drive it & have fun driving it. Next time I visit the salvage yards, I'll look around & find something & make it fit. Off the top of my head, I think 70's GM had a door pull strap to close the door. The mountings at either end had plastic covers to cover the screws that held the strap in place. A dab of some type of adhesive & done, clean & neat. If & when I find something that works, I'll post my findings. If anyone has an extra set, I would appreciate it though. Again, thank you all for your help.
