help to Identify part
Hi can someone explain how this part function and if can be done without please?It blows cold air into engine

That looks like your air compressor it's for emission or smog. Mine is not working but whoever had the car before me worked it out doing away with it, but the only thing is that I can't follow manual diagrams - thinking about putting it back. Any ideas

Pumps air into the exhaust to completely burn all the fuel and/or allow the cats to remove smog elements.
In Calif its part of the visual inspection and you would fail without it. Except for smog I doubt it does much one way or another. When disconnected they can freeze up internally, so make sure it works before you connect it back up. That orange output hose goes to the diverter valve at the rear of the motor. |
