				Tire size

What is the widest size tire that can be put in the front with the standard 16'' slotted that wouldn't hit the inner put of the chassis?

a 225 series. You might be able to squeeze a 235 on a 6" rim but for safety I would not recommend it. With a stock 6" rim, you're no where near rubbing on the inside with any tire that's safe to put on.

Not much point in anything wider than 225 on the factory slots which are I think 7", some have used the wider S4 8" rear with 245 "or so" width. Once the tread exceeds the rim width traction and handling benefits drop fast. If you just want to "fill the wheel well" maybe look into spacers? | ||

I most have the s4 8'' you are talking about because it has 245 /45 /16'' ,so they normally go on the rear? How wide can I go on the rear with them ?265, 275 - I don't want crazy but with the nice rear of the 928 you want some nice wide tire there too.

The 16 inch slotted S wheel is a 7 inch. The S-4 used an 8 inch on the rear only. Many people have put 245 tires on a 7 inch rim then the sidewall is pinched in at the rim. As Mike commented the car will handle worse , corner at slower speeds with too wide a tire.

So go with the 245 on the rear with the 8'' rim and 225 with the 7''. This should be a good combo right?

you could also locate another pair of 8 inchers and use them with 245's on the front as well. then you would be squared---- adding spacers to the rear would also help. --Russ

For a little over 500 bones you can get a set of 4 aftermarket 18" rims 8/10" wide. You could then go 295 rear and 255 front. Or if you can find a set of used 996 wheels, the offset works well. 17x 7.5/9". You can go 275 reaar and 245 front. Just make sure they are not the Boxter rims as offset is wrong. Lighter than the knock off wheels and look good on the shark.
